PEBBLE TRACE, 2023

decorator + photographer

Eager to explore my passion for interior design, I asked to redecorate my parents’ 3,500 sq ft home in Houston. With some determination, a couple of DIY-friendly tools, and the internet, I embarked on a two-month journey to update the space into a more modern and personalized sanctuary for my parents, reflecting their love for art and travel.

With only a limited budget, topical fixes such as paint and second-hand furniture did most of the heavy lifting in transforming the space. A restrained color palette of my favorite greens, ochres, and corals, along with a focus on mid-century furniture, transformed an otherwise uninspired setting into one of more sophistication. Unexpected pieces of art, several made by me, added a whimsical flair.

For the upstairs landing hallway, I curated an assortment of antiques, carefully selecting pieces ranging from the Simón Loscertales Bona birthing stool to a stunningly patterned Navajo rug. This thoughtful arrangement created a seamless transition into the upstairs space, where eclectic artwork and a more liberal color palette awaited.
